Iran, Oriental Region (Sri Lanka). Deraeocoris (Camptobrochis) pallens (Reuter, 1904) [ subspecies affiliation uncertain] Distribution in Iran. East Azarbaijan (Khalilzadeh 2008; Sadeghi et al. 2009; Khaghaninia et al. 2010 a, c, 2011), Golestan (Abd-Rabou & Ghahari 2006; Ghahari & Ostovan 2006; Ghahari et al. 2011; Ghahari 2013), Hamadan (Mirab-balou et al. 2007, 2008), Kerman (Wagner 1968 a under the subsequent spelling “ D. sallens [sic] (Reut.) ”), Kordestan (Ebrahimi et al. 2012), Mazandaran (Abd-Rabou & Ghahari 2006; Ghahari & Ostovan 2006; Ghahari et al. 2011), Tehran (Modarres Awal 1997 c), Zanjan (Askari et al. 2009). General distribution, hosts and prey. Species known from Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Italy (doubtful data), Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey (Asian part), Yemen; predator of aphids (Modarres Awal 1997 c) and the whitefly, Bemisia tabaci Gennadius (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) (Ghahari & Ostovan 2006); living on numerous plants including alfalfa (Khaghaninia et al. 2010 c, 2011; Khalilzadeh 2008; Mirab-balou et al. 2007, 2008) and lucerne (Modarres Awal 1997 c). Comments. Because the subspecies Deraeocoris (C.) pallens atramentarius was recently collected in Iran (Linnavuori 2009), the subspecific identity of numerous specimens cited from Iran in the literature remains unclear and should be verified.
