- Paravelia foveata Polhemus & Polhemus, 1984 (Figs 16 G, 17 A) Paravelia foveata Polhemus & Polhemus, 1984 b: 499. [Original description] Paravelia foveata: Moreira et al. 2011 b, 20. [Checklist] Paravelia foveata: Heckman 2011, 230. [Identification key] Diagnosis. Male. BL 4.10, PL 1.50, PW 1.37. Female. BL 4.40, PL 1.55, PW 1.50. General body color brownish. Pleura and abdominal sternites covered by rounded punctations without setae. Anterior lobe of pronotum with a pair of whitish to pale yellow maculae. Forewing with a basal macula, starting from humeral angle and passing posterior margin of pronotum, convergent on distal half; on the sides of this macula, between radial and cubital vein, another small rounded white macula; pruinose areas between wing cells; on distal half, another pale white macula, with slightly concave posterior margin (Fig. 17 A). Male proctiger without dorsal elevation. Paramere (Fig. 16 G) medially narrow, with apex less rounded than that illustrated by Polhemus & Polhemus (1984 b: 504). Discussion. Described from the macropterous form and so far known only from the type-locality, in Amazonas State, Brazil. This species, like P. amapaensis sp. nov., P. anta, P. bilobata sp. nov., P. dilatata, and P. hungerfordi, has the thorax and abdomen covered by rounded or oval punctations. However, it can be easily differentiated from those by the pattern of maculae on anterior lobe of pronotum and on the forewings (Fig. 17 A). Material examined. Brazil, Roraima: 3 macropterous males, 1 macropterous female (INPA), Yanomami indigenous area, Serra de Surucucu, 02° 49 ’ 53.78 ”N / 63 ° 38 ’ 19.78 ”W, unnamed stream, 26.XI. 1991, (V. Py-Daniel & U. Barbosa) [first record from Roraima State].
