The rate of polymerization was found dependent on first power of the monomer and catalyst while half power of the activator concentration. The energy of activation has been found to be 10.5 kcal mol-1 between 25 and 45°. The effect of various additives on the course of polymerization was studied qualitatively. The retarding effect of organic solvents has been studied quantitatively and retardation constants have been calculated using newly developed 'Intercept method'.
