- Apolinus lividigaster (Mulsant) Platyomus lividigaster Mulsant, 1853: 286. Scymnodes (Apolinus) lividigaster: Pope & Lawrence 1990: 244. Apolinus lividigaster: Slipinski 2007: 99. This species was originally described from Australia; it is also recorded from New Zealand and Hawaii. In New Caledonia, it was not recorded by Bielawski (1972) in his review of New Caledonian Scymnini. It has only been collected in Nouméa and Yaté regions (southern Grande Terre). It is predominantly aphidiphagous, but is also able to use pollen when preys are scarce (Lundgren 2009). Based on this information, we consider it to be a recent arrival because of the lack of autochthonous aphids, whether by natural spread or accidental introduction. Material examined.
