- Malaysiamiris nigrescens n. sp. (Figs. 4 F −G, 7, 9) Diagnosis. Recognized its small size; almost entirely fuscous body, with silvery, reclining setae on dorsum (Figs. 4 F −G); dark, tumid antennal segment II; creamy yellow antennal segment III and IV, and pro- and mesotibiae. So far as known, no other congener has such widely fuscous color pattern, and, therefore, this new species is easily identifiable. Description. Body almost wholly fuscous, ovoid, rather flat; dorsal surface weakly shining, with uniformly distributed, silvery, reclining setae that are easily rubbed off. Head rather pointed anteriorly. Antenna dark brown; segment II broadened; segments III and IV creamy yellow, filiform. Labium shiny reddish brown, reaching apex of mesocoxa. Pronotum somewhat polished; scutellum shallowly and transversely rugose. Hemelytron weakly shagreened or matte; membrane dark smoky brown. Leg fuscous; entire pro- and mesotibiae, and all tarsi yellowish brown. Abdomen wholly shiny fuscous. Male genitalia as in Fig. 9; endosoma with a long, slender appendage and broadly hooked apex. Measurements (♂/♀): Total body length 1.9 −2.0/ 2.3; length from apex of clypeus to cuneal fracture 1.37−1.43 / 1.64; width of head across eyes 0.53−0.56 / 0.56; width of vertex 0.27−0.29 / 0.30; lengths of antennal segments I-IV 0.12−0.13, 0.39−0.45, 0.20−0.23, 0.27−0.31 / 0.12, 0.37, 0.22, 0.26; labial length 0.95 −1.00; mesal length of pronotum 0.31−0.36 / 0.34; basal width of pronotum 0.74−0.83 / 0.86; maximum width across hemelytron 0.88−0.96 / 1.10; and lengths of metafemur, tibia and tarsus 0.69−0.72, 0.82−0.85, 0.24−0.26 / 0.74, 0.86, 0.26. Remarks. This is the second species of Malaysiamiris occurring in Thailand, and is easily distinguished from the other one, M. rufobadius Yasunaga by the almost entirely fuscous body; the latter species has reddish maroon general coloration (see Yasunaga, 2010). Etymology. From Latin, nigrescens (= blackened), referring to the general coloration of this new species.
