  • With the development of human civilization, the development of technology and the growing population, the world is now facing a problem called pollution that threatens the lives of the inhabitants of the planet. Pollution caused by the accumulation of soil and water with stable toxic compounds such as chemicals, salts, heavy metals and radioactive materials are among the causes of many diseases that have a profound effect on the health of humans, animals and even plants. The emission of heavy metals in the environment has caused many problems in the world due to the industrialization of society and the expansion of urbanization. In this study, we have tried to use biocompatible and biodegradable polymeric materials such as chitosan beads and graphene functionalized with amine functional groups as one of the most widely used nanoparticles in chitosan beads to adsorb cadmium metal ions from aqueous solutions. Review. Atomic absorption spectrometry showed that the optimal adsorption rate of cadmium ion occurs in a solution of 50 ppm with a pH of 7 and a contact time of 2 hours and an adsorbent of 25 mg. This article is the original version of my master's thesis with the same title.
