- Pirenella incisa (Hombron & Jacquinot, 1848) Figs 5A –D Cerithium incisum Hombron & Jacquinot, 1848: 97, pl. 23, figs 8–9. Cerithideopsilla djadjariensis (K. Martin, 1899): Lozouet & Plaziat 2008: 110 –111, pl. 19, figs 5–7; Poppe 2008a: 284 –287, pl. 87, fig. 2, pl. 88, fig. 2; Zvonareva et al. 2015: 8. Cerithidea (Cerithideopsilla) djadjariensis: Okutani 2000: 132 –133, pl. 66, fig. 5. Cerithideopsilla incisa A: Ozawa et al. 2015: fig. 2. Pirenella incisa: Reid & Ozawa 2016: 30 –35, figs 1, 2G, H, 4I, 10, 11A (full synonymy). Material examined. Nha Phu Bay, about 10 specimens. Abundance. Uncommon. Measurements. Up to 50 mm (Okutani 2000). Ecological notes. Development with planktonic phase of 10–12 days. On intertidal mudflats from mid to low tide level, and beneath mangrove trees in non-drying puddles, in seaward estuarine mangroves. Often co-occurs with Pirenella cingulata (Reid & Ozawa 2016). In studied sites it was found on mud under mangrove trees. Relation to mangroves. Predominantly mangrove-associated. Distribution in Vietnam. From northern-east coast to central Vietnam (Reid & Ozawa 2016). General distribution. Vietnam, Malayan archipelago and Philippines (Reid & Ozawa 2016). Remarks. The current molecular analysis of world fauna of Cerithideopsilla demonstrated much higher species diversity than was anticipated previously (Ozawa et al. 2015). In particular three entities were recognized within former ‘ Cerithideopsilla djadjariensis’, of which one, P. i n c i s a is found in Central Vietnam. This species also extends to Malaysia and Philippines (Reid & Ozawa 2016).
