This species is named in honor of Angel Solís, curator of Coleoptera at InBio (Instituto Nacional de Biodiversidad), San Jose, Costa Rica, who has been very helpful in loaning much interesting material for study. Diagnosis. This species is most easily recognized by the pronotal structure: straight, parallel lateral margins, with denticulate, projecting hind angles. Description. Measurements (mm, N = 11). HL = 0.68–0.92; PL = 0.68–0.84; EL = 2.76–3.52; GHW = 0.88 – 1.00; GPW = 0.88–1.08; GEW = 1.52 –2.00; TL = 4.12–5.24. Ratios: EL/GEW = 1.70 –2.00; GPW/PL = 1.18–1.30; TL/GEW = 2.53–3.05; GPW/GHW = 0.87–1.08. With characters of Thisiomorphus, and the following: Body moderately elongate (TL / GEW 2.76), lateral elytral margins subparallel to slightly arcuate. Color. Antennae and maxillary palpi uniformly rufo-testaceous; head and pronotum uniformly non-metallic brown to piceous; elytra non-metallic brown, lighter in color than forebody; apical patches visible in some specimens, distinctly darker than background elytral color; legs uniformly rufo-testaceous, femora in some specimens slightly darker than tibiae and tarsi; venter uniformly dark rufous. Antennae relatively elongate; antennomeres 3–7 filiform; antennomeres 8–10 relatively elongate, slightly expanded distally. Pronotum moderately wider than long (GPW / PL 1.25), subequal in width to head (GPW / GHW 1.00); lateral margins straight, sides subparallel; hind angles distinct, protruding; dorsal surface evenly convex, without depressions. Male genitalia. Parameres shorter than lateral margin of basale, inner margins very shallowly emarginate basally; basale with anterior margin straight to slightly bisinuate, lateral margins relatively straight, somewhat angulate towards base. Distribution. Specimens of T. solisi have been collected from COSTA RICA (Alajuela, Cartago, Guanacaste) and PANAMA (Panamá, Veraguas).
