The morphological characters observed in the specimens agree with the original description given by Souza et al. (2009), i.e. synlophe with 25–26 subequal ridges, bell-shaped and asymmetrical caudal bursa with strong asymmetry of rays 8 and of branches of dorsal ray, very long and striated spicules, and SpL/BL of 25–29%. Stilestrongylus lanfrediae was described by Souza et al. (2009) in O. nigripes from Serra dos Órgãos, Teresópolis, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It was also recorded by Simões et al. (2011) extending the range of the hosts to A. cursor and A. montensis. This is the first record of this species in Argentina, and E. russatus and S. angouya are new host records.
