- Department of Chemistry, Saurashtra University, Rajkot-360 005 Manuscript received 2 September 1986, revised 30 November 1987, accepted 7 January 1988 2-Aryl-6/7-substituted-4-quinolinecarboxylic acids have been condensed with ethylenediamine and o-phenylenediamines to give imidazolines and benzimidazoles, respectively. The products are condensed with formaldehyde, diethylamine and N,N,-diethylaminoethanol. These have been screened for their antimicrobial activity.
