- Department of Chemistry, Lucknow University, Lucknow-226 007 Thirty new coumarin derivatives have been synthesised, In the first scheme 15 new heterocyclic derivatives of 7-hydroxy-4-methylcoumarin have been synthesised. These were screened for antifungal and antibacterial activities. In the second scheme Mannich bases and benzylidene derivatives of coumarin substituted rhodanines have been synthesised. The structure of the compounds were confirmed by spectral and microanalytical data.
