- Post-Graduate Department of Chemistry, G. M. College, Sambalpur-768 004 Manuscript received 24 December 1991, revised 17 June 1992, accepted 1 July 1992 Bis·bidentate title ligands form binuclear complexes with divalent cobalt, nickel, copper, zinc, cadmium and mercury ions. Both the ligands coordinate to the metal atoms through ONOO potential donor atoms. The complexes formed by the former ligand are either octahedral or distorted octahedral in nature but the Co, Ni and Cu complexes with the latter ligand are octahedral or distorted octahedral and a tetrahedral stereochemistry can be suggested for the Zn, Cd and Hg complexes.
