Frauenfeld (1869), Kohn (1978), Rajagopal et al. (1998), Hylleberg & Kilburn (2002), Fernando & Fernando (2002), Franklin et al. (2007), and Apte (2014) recorded this species from Tamil Nadu and the Andaman and Nicobar islands.
