- Gryllacris (Gryllacris) vittata vittata Walker, 1869 Figs. 10D, 12J, 16I Material examined. Holotype (female): Myanmar: Tenasserim—(London BMNH). Description. Medium sized to large species (Fig. 10D). Head: Face ovoid; forehead nearly smooth with scattered impressed dots and shallow transverse riffles; fastigium verticis wider than scapus; ocelli visible, distinct; fastigium frontis separated from fastigium verticis by a transverse suture; subocular furrows present but shallow (Fig. 12J). Tegmen: Radius with two branches, both forked near tip; media anterior fused in basal area with radius; media posterior absent; cubitus anterior forks between basal third and mid-length into two veins, CuA1 and CuA2; cubitus posterior undivided, free throughout; with 4 anal veins, the last incomplete. Legs: Fore coxa with a spine at fore margin. Coloration. General color brownish, rather dark; head mostly black; pronotum with anterior area black, disc in light area with unclear black ornaments similar as in G. signifera. Face black, with contrasting light compound eyes and ocelli; ventral area of clypeus, base and a medial line of labrum medium brown. Tegmen semi-transparent with a black medial band from behind basal third to tip, forming narrow black extensions on both sides (anteriorly and posteriorly) along the cross veins to about R/RS and CuP; hind wing semi-transparent; main veins brown; crossveins blackish and bordered on both sides by dark bands. Male unknown. Female. Seventh abdominal sternite wider than long, shorter than preceding sternites. Subgenital plate as in other species of the genus with wide base and roughly ovoid apical area; basal to central area on both sides with a curved carina that gives the impression as though wider rounded areas were flipped over the more central area, furrowed in midline; in about center with a small extended sclerite; apex bi-triangular with medial excision, surfaces of the angles with rather narrow oval swellings (Fig. 16I). Ovipositor long, moderately curved, with faintly approaching margins; tip with a slight pre-apical expansion. Measurements (1 female).—body w/o wings: 32; pronotum: 8; tegmen: 30.5; tegmen width: 11.3; hind femur: 20; ovipositor: 23 mm; measurements from photos.
