Label 1: White label stating collection locality '(INDIA: Tamil Nadu); North Salem, Aiyur; 11. vi. 1930; collected by FRI Sandal Insect Survey'. Label 2: white slip with number '437'. Label 3: White label two—' Gynandrophthalma flaviventris Bryant (hand written), Det. GE Bryant'. Label 4: Yellow bordered white circular label stating 'Cotype'. Label 5: Yellow label with printed 'Cotype'. Remarks: Antennae are broken and missing. Comments: In the original description there is no clear mention either about number of specimens on which the species is described or their depository. But based on the published data it seems that the species was described on the basis of three specimens: one collected from Jawalagiri, North Salem on 17.iv.1931 and two more with numbers—436 and 437'' collected from Ayur on 11.vi.1930. In NFIC specimen bearing the number '437 ' is present with details as mentioned above. Rest of specimens which may be designated as type and cotypes are deposited elsewhere.
