Schmidt\ Type\ Lectotype Centris similis (F) J. S. Moure 1958 (ZMUC, examined). Subsequent designation: Moure (1960). Type locality: “America meridionalis”, according to Moure (1960), probably Guyana. Centris lineolata Lepeletier, 1841. 158. Type data: Lectotype female (MSNT, not examined). Subsequent designation: Moure (1960). Type locality: French Guiana: Cayenne. Centris lineolata var. castaniventris Mocsáry in Friese, 1901. 288. (Figures 25‒28) Type data: The description of this subspecies was based on male and female specimens collected in Venezuela and Peru, respectively. The female syntype found at HNHM is here designated lectotype. The specimen has the following data label: Peru Cumbara [handwritten]\ [light greenish square] 41 [handwritten]\ C. lineolata v. castaniventris Mocs. ♀ [handwritten] det. Friese 1898 [printed]. Type locality: Peru: “Cumbara”. See comments on this locality under the notes on C. flavilabris above. Comments: Taxonomic decision for synonymy: Moure (1960). This species was correctly interpreted by Moure et al. (2007).
