- The subject of research are determinants, indicators, components and factors of foreign economic security. The purpose of the study is to identify the features and directions of the foreign economic policy of the state in the context of ensuring its economic security, taking into account key factors of external influence and current trends. Research methods. Axiomatic, statistical analysis, synthesis methods, tabular presentation of results, statistical, systematization and generalization. Results of work. The following article identifies and describes the contradictions and dilemmas that arise in the field of economic security in the current growth of the role of foreign economic activity. Determining the place of foreign economic security in the economic security system of the country. Consideration in terms of trade policy allows us to identify three important categories, existing in close interaction. There are methodological category, issues due to changes caused by globalization and regionalization, category according to current civilizational changes in the world of technology, as well as the consequences of new global challenges, such as Covid–19. Under such conditions, the stable development of countries and the guarantee of economic security require constant adaptation to world trends by changing foreign policy priorities. This article shows the relationship between foreign economic activity and economic security of the country. The scope of the result. Economics, methods and mechanisms of regulation of economic processes and their management, international economic relations. Conclusions. The current state of globalization creates new opportunities and unlimited instruments for development. However, the globalization of world economic relations has led to the cultivation of new challenges and threats to the security of some states. This is manifested in the state of economic relations with major partners. Thus, there is a direct relationship between the foreign economic component of national security and international economic security, which is manifested in changes in the dynamics of macroeconomic indicators of foreign trade. The country’s ability to resolve conflicts related to the need to comply with international treaties, while protecting national interests. In the conditions of aggravating threats to the global environment, one of the main areas of strengthening foreign economic security and ensuring participation in the international division of labor is to increase the competitiveness of domestic producers. At the same time, internal competitiveness should be achieved on the basis of technical and technological modernization, development of import– substituting production, and improvement of institutional mechanisms of economic regulation. Strengthening external competitiveness is possible on the basis of bringing the quality characteristics of domestic goods in line with European technical norms and standards, as well as the introduction of new technologies for the production of goods with high added value.
