University, Jodhpur-342 001, India Manuscript received 17 December 1999, accepted 27 December 1999 The electrochemical oxidation of anodic metals Sn and Pb in binary system consisting of acetonitrile (MeCN) and dimethylfonnamide (DMF) as solvent and pyridine-2-thione (pyt-H) as solute, gives complexes [Sn(pyt)2] and [Pb(pyt)2], respectively. Pyridine-2-thione (pyt-H) acts as a bidentate ligand and that the geometry of the complexes is tetrahedral.
