Kinetic study of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) entry into the coordination sphere of Pt(8-AMQ)Cl2 and Pd(8-AMQ)Cl2 has been undertaken through spectrophotometric measurements showing the replacement of one Cl- from the complexes. 1H nmr studies support the S-bonding to the metal centre in the DMSO substituted species
