The 1 : 4 (metal : ligand) complex can be extracted into benzene in the pH range of 6.7-7.3, whose absorbance is measured at 420 nm. The proposed system is simple, fast, highly reproducible with a relative standard deviation of 0.25% and has been applied satisfactorily to the analysis of several samples including flue dust and water samples.
