Gurukula Kangri University, Hardwar-249 404, Uttaranchal, India Manuscript received 23 March 2005, revised 28 February 2006, accepted 13 March 2006 Macrocydic complexes of copper, nickel and cobalt were synthesized via template reactions. These 1,4,8,11- tetraaza[14]tetraazatetradecatetraene N6 macrocyclic complexes were characterized by magnetic, couductance, electronic and IR spectral studies. The macrocyclic ligand coordinates through the four azomethine nitrogen atoms which are bridged by 2,3-butanedione moieties, but far infrared spectra suggest the pyridine nitrogens are not coordinated. These macrocyclic complexes are considered to have distorted octahedral configurations.
