The Infrared spectra of complexes in comparison to that of the free ligand show the mode of coordination of the ligands. The appearance of three bands in their electronic spectra is indicative of their square pyramidal geometry which is further substantiated by their electron spin resonance spectra. The presence of eight lines in the hyperfine ESR spectra shows that they are mononuclear complexes.
