- To do fecal and urinary drainage and to facilitate the recovery process in gastrointestinal or urinary system diseases, stoma is applied. Stoma affects people's lives physically, psychologically, socially and culturally. Emerging complications during life with stoma cause this process to be much harder. Care and management is important in adaptation of the patient in their life with stoma. Wound care nurses include the patients to the process in their stoma specific trainings.
