The preferred regio- and stereochemical mode of approach of the dipolarophlc over the dipole controls the selectivities of such reactions. These can be rationalised by DFT based theoretical models in terms of reactivity indices, interaction energies and the activation parameters. A short review of some recent experim ental and theoretical aspects of these cycloadditions is presented.
