- It presents a research that verified the process of management of school libraries in the city of Ivoti, in Rio Grande do Sul, regarding the compliance with the Law No. 12244/2010. It outlines identifying the network managers of school libraries in Ivoti. It evaluates whether the municipal library network complies with the legislation in force, partially or completely. It suggests the creation of a municipal library system with quality management. The methodology used was of a basic nature. It is characterized with the objective of being exploratory, with the case study structure and the data collected are performed through a semi-structured interview. The data analysis was performed based on subjects' responses and documentary analysis obtained from Ivoti City Hall. The survey results came from a comparison between the sources consulted in the theoretical reference and the analysis of the interviews, about the goal of the research. It concludes by responding to the research problem and suggesting the creation of a system of school libraries for the city of Ivoti-RS.
