X-Ray diffraction confirms the formation of single cubic ZnSe phase with a preferred orientation along (111) direction with an average value of the crystallite size around 37 nm. Optical studies reveal a transmittance above 80% for lower SeO2 concentration (< 3%) then drop up to 60% for higher concentration (> 5%) with an energy bandgap around 2.75 eV. Photoluminescence analysis shows the presence of mainly 2 bands, narrow PL band centered at 487 nm and broad photoemission band centered at 531 nm. Scanning electron microscopy observations reveal the formation of dense nanostructured films.
