  • HAEMULIDAE Parapristipoma humile (Bowdich, 1825) , is a West African species reported from the Mediterranean coasts of Spain (De Buen, 1936) but no specimens are available for confirmation. It has often been confused with P. octolineatum, which occurs in the western Mediterranean (Roux, 1979). Ben-Tuvia and McKay (1986), consider it a doubtful species in the Mediterranean, while Fischer et al. (1987) exclude the species from this basin.
