- Ilyophis brunneus Gilbert 1892 (Fig. 4 B) Material examined. One specimen, 279.0 mm TL: MNRJ 26826 (1, 279.0 mm), T, E- 496. Distribution. Ilyophis brunneus was described from the Galapagos Islands (0o 36 ’ S, 89 o 19 ’ W) and is known elsewhere from all tropical and temperate seas, from about 51 o N to 42 o S (Sulak & Shcherbachev 1997).
