In the present work, a metal–organic framework [mono(5-(4- pyridyl)tetrazolato)hydroxylzinc(II)] monoaqua (1) has been synthesized and characterized. The average particle size of the product was calculated to be 43 nm by X-ray diffraction. In addition, the efficacy of the synthesized MOF as a photocatalyst was investigated by taking a common wastewater dye methylene blue (MB). The photocatalytic activity MOF (1) has been found to be 86 % within one hour for 16 ppm of methylene blue (MB) dye using 0.8 g/L of catalyst.
