Medical College, Akola-444 001, Maharashtra, India Manuscript received online 25 July 2015, accepted 09 August 2016 Several 1-peracetyl and perbenzoyl glycosyl benzimidazolyl thiocarbamides were synthesized by the interaction of peracetyl and perbenzoyl glycosyl isothiocyanate and 2-amino benzimidazole. The identities of these newly synthesized compounds were established on the basis of usual chemical transformations and IR, 1H NMR and Mass spectral studies. All the synthesized compounds have been evaluated for their antibacterial and antifungal activity against different bacteria and fungi by agar diffusion method.
