- During studies on tephritid flies fauna in Kurdistan Province (Iran) in 2009–2010, 33 species of 16 genera are found to occur in this region. Tephritis mesopotamica, Tephritis pulchra, Urophora cuspidata, U. quadrifasciata quadrifasciata and U. tenuis are recorded for the first time for Iranian fauna. In addition, 8 host plants are reported as a new host plant for tephritid flies.
