  • Slug presence, and slug management, is a key challenge associated with the use of in-crop living mulches such as clover, as such mulches can provide an alternative refuge. Baited traps can be used to monitor for presence and relative numbers to compare the impact across treatment. The sheltered area provided by the traps can also be used incidentally to assess for potential slug predators, such as carabids.
