- Occupational safety and health (OSH) remains a challenge to the construction industry world-wide and source of worry for industry stakeholders. Research points to a nexus between design decisions and OSH risk downstream of the construction supply chain. The importance of design for safety (DfS) training cannot therefore be overstated. This transcript, of a focus group discussion workshop among UK academics in higher education sector, captures the views on the current state of occupational safety and health (OSH) education to build safe design thinking and capabilities among students on built environment programmes in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
