HOLOTYPE: AMNH 696596, adult male, collected at the head of the Aroa River, 4600 ft, 09.00S, 147.00E (PNG, 1984), Central Province, Papua New Guinea, on 20 May 1905, by Albert S. Meek (no. A.2199). From the Rothschild Collection. COMMENTS: Rothschild and Hartert cited the unique field number of the holotype in the original description and listed their type series, including Meek field numbers. Paratypes are: head of Aroa River, AMNH 696594 (Meek no. A.2255), 28 May 1905, AMNH 696595 (A.2214), 23 May 1905, males; Bihagi, head of Mambare River, AMNH 696597 (A.2595), male, AMNH 696598 (A.2591), female, AMNH 696599 (A.2593), sex?, but published as male, all three collected on 11 March 1906.
