B. Pohl det. 1964/ Oxychalepus opacicollis n. sp. Holotipo ♂ T. C. Ramos det. 1996 (MZUP)]. Description. Pronotum orangish with medial stripe and lateral margins black; elytra with apical 1⁄4 black and basal anchor-shaped black markings; venter black with orangish markings; pro-, meso-, and metasterna, and abdominal sterna 1–2 yellowish medially, black laterally; abdominal sterna 3–8 black; base of femora orange. Head: vertex with medial sulcus and sulcus on inner margin of each eye, frontal carina straight; clypeus with globose elevations. Antenna: reaching to humeri; slightly compressed laterally; antennomere 1 large, subglobose; 2 transverse, small; 3–4 cylindrical, elongate; 5 cylindrical shorter than 4; 6–10 transverse; 11 pointed at apex; 1–2 with scatter setae; 3–7 sulcate; 8–11 setose. Pronotum: obconic, convex; lateral margin slightly sinuate at base and apex; anterior angle with rounded tooth; punctures shallow, absent on disc; transverse basal impression distinct; with faint medial longitudinal sulcus; pronotal length 0.9–1.1 mm (n=7); pronotal width 1.4–1.7 mm. Scutellum: longer than wide; alutaceous. Elytron: lateral margin finely toothed basally, teeth less dense but larger apically; apical margin truncate, with large tooth in exterior apical angle and at end of carina 2; with 10 rows of punctures, scutellar row absent; carinae 1 and 2 straight, carina 3 from humerus to apical 1⁄4; elytral length 5.1–6.4 mm; elytral width 2.1–2.6 mm. Venter: pro-meso, and metasterna smooth medially, rugose laterally; abdominal sterna slightly rugose laterally. Leg: protibia of male with large tooth. Total length: 6.5–8.3 mm. Remarks. This species is distinguished by the elytra without a scutellar row; by the vertex of the head being trisulcate; by antennomere 2 being transverse; and by the disc of the pronotum being impunctate.
