- Phyllodoce benedenii (Hansen, 1882) new comb. Macrophyllum benedenii Hansen, 1882: 6, pl. 1, gures 14–17. Anaitides benedenii: Hartman, 1959: 143. Material examined. Holotype (NMNHL 1288), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Remarks. Examination of Hansen’s specimen unequivocally shows that it belongs to Phyllodoce Savigny in Lamarck, 1818. It appears close to Phyllodoce panamensis Treadwell, 1917, from Panama, Gulf of Mexico and California, in having markedly developed dorsal cirrophores and neuropodia with enlarged supra-acicular lobes. The relationship between these two taxa needs further clarication.
