Naderloo, 3 Apr. 2015; 1 male and 1 female (ZUTC 6683), Hormuz I., on dead corals, Coll. A. Dehghani, 15 May 2016; GO: 2 males, 2 ovig. females (ZUTC 6684) Chabahar Bay, Tis, on dead corals, Coll. A. Sari and A. Kazemi, 2 May 2014. Distribution. Indo-West Pacific: from Red Sea to Micronesia and Samoa. Regional records. PG and GO: Iran (present study). Habitat. Found under coral rubble or in crevices of dead coral heads. Remark. This species belongs to the Alpheus paracrinitus Miers, 1881 species complex, but shows a distinct distribution pattern compared to A. paracrinitus. This species is distinguishable from A. paracrinitus by absence of balaeniceps on minor chela. Geographically, A. paracrinitus is an amphi-Atlantic species while A. alpheopsides occurs in the Indo-West Pacific.
