Sari and A. Kazemi, 2 May 2014. Distribution. Indo-West Pacific: from Red Sea to Micronesia and Samoa. Regional records. PG and GO: Iran (present study). Habitat. Found under coral rubble or in crevices of dead coral heads. Remark. This species belongs to the Alpheus paracrinitus Miers, 1881 species complex, but shows a distinct distribution pattern compared to A. paracrinitus. This species is distinguishable from A. paracrinitus by absence of balaeniceps on minor chela. Geographically, A. paracrinitus is an amphi-Atlantic species while A. alpheopsides occurs in the Indo-West Pacific.
