  • Concrete-filled-steel-tube (CFST) structures have the advantages of high strength and ductility due to steel tubes and high loading capacity due to concrete. Experimental studies on the ultimate strength of steel-concrete composite beams in combined bending and shear have been of interest to researchers. In this investigation 3 rectangular hollow beam section and 3 hollow beam in-filled with concrete of grade M30 having span of 1250 mm with three d/b ratio such as 1.5,1,0.6 have been casted experimentally and modeled using finite element software ABAQUS under two point loading conditions with thickness of 2 mm. Simply supported boundary conditions and suitable constraints are given at the supports. Analysis is carried out and the maximum ultimate load and total deformation are obtained and the results are compared with the manual calculation. The experimental results are compared with analytical results and theoretical results. And it is found that the analytical results is 1.2 time more that the experimental results ant the theoretical results is 1.17 times more than the experimental results.
