- The COVID-19 virus infection since the end of December 2019 has had a tremendous impact and has not been resolved to date. Health protocols must be implemented properly including limiting physical contact and maintaining distance between humans to reduce the spread of the COVID-19. Indonesian Doctors Association advised hospitals to still be able to provide health care to patients who need health services. One way that is considered safe is through teleconsultation. Scientific writing is done to find out various scientific reasons regarding the extent to which telemedicine can be used during the COVID-19 pandemic. Scientific studies obtained from various journals and various sources show that there are benefits of telemedicine in the fields of neurology, children, internal medicine, surgery, and mental health. For this reason, this telemedicine service is quite effective and useful in the era of COVID-19 pandemic. It is especially so to reduce virus transmission, reduce morbidity and mortality due to COVID-19, specifically for patients who still have to get treatment. Without delay in treatment, it will reduce the incidence of complications in patients. This telemedicine service will continue to be developed so that it becomes an alternative method of treatment that is accepted by the wider community.
