(Köhler & Glaubrecht 2006: 207); possible syntype: NHMUK 1981148 (1 spm.). Type locality —“Nsendwe, Nyangwe et Kasongo dans le Lualaba”; “ Congo ” [in publication title]. Distribution —eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, Central African Republic (Brown 1980: 50, 1994: 60). Remarks. Synonym of libyca Morelet, teste G.B. Sowerby III (1916: 67). Valid species, teste Kobelt (1912 b: 41), who placed it in Meladomus, and Pilsbry & Bequaert (1927: 190), Brown (1994: 60) and Berthold (1991: 246), who all placed it in Lanistes s. str. Also treated as a valid species by Köhler & Glaubrecht (2006: 207).
