- 10.Cylas fonnicarius (Fabricius) (pl. 6, D). Brentus formicarius Fabricius, Ent. Syst., Suppl., 74, 1798. Cylas turcipennis Boheman, in Schoenherr's Gen. Spec. Cure. 1: 369, 1833. The color-form elegantulus (Summers) with steel-blue elytra, red legs, antennae, prothorax and mesothorax was taken as follows: four from Piti, one, May 10, 1936, Usinger; one, from sweet-potato vines, Nov. 17, Swezey; and two swept from morning-glory vine on sugar cane, Sept. 1, Swezey. This species is a well-known tropicopolitan pest of sweet potatoes.
