Boone Vol. 1 Valid name: Rhinonicteris aurantia (Gray, 1845) Presumably Syntype: ZMB 3983, body in alcohol, skull extracted, male; Port Essington, N-Australia; presumably collected by Sibbald, donated by Gray, ex BMNH. Comment: In the general catalogue ZMB 3983 is marked with a type * by Peters and annotated as "Ex. orig. [original specimen] Rhinolophus aurantius Gray ". Further syntypes are in the RMNH and MNHN, and an assumed holotype is in the BMNH (1845.5.13.3).
