Synonymy: Knížek, 2011: 246. Xyleborus canus Niisima, 1909: 161. syn. n. Taxonomy: The type specimen of X. canus collected in Sapporo could not be located in Niisima’s collection (NIAES). However, three non-type specimens from [Mt.] “Moiwa” [Sapporo] identified as X. canus by Niisima were examined (NIAES) and were directly compared with specimens of X. attenuatus (MSUC, NMNH) and found to be conspecific. Xyleborus canus is here placed in synonymy.
