  • fausta -species group This species group is characterized by: in male genitalia tegumen with “shoulders” strongly marked; valve subrectangular, curved, elongate, and very narrow; cucullus apex strongly projected anterodorsally; sacculus 3 / 5 × as wide as valve; saccus hemispherical or subtriangular, ventrally projected as a spine and notched dorsally. Aedeagus posterior half sclerotized and anterior half lightly sclerotized; vesica long, 10–12 × as long as aedeagus, except Agrotis canities (8 × as long as aedeagus), basal spined band present. Female genitalia with appendix bursae long, 6–14 × as long as corpus bursae, except Agrotis fausta (5 × as long as corpus bursae).
