  • 30. E. liesneri Gauld (Fig. 10o) Enicospilus liesneri Gauld, 1988: 276. Holotype ♀, Costa Rica (BMNH). The shape of the head in dorsal view (extremely short centrally, and abruptly declivous behind the ocelli) is the most striking character to separate the species. No other Cuban species has this characteristic, although other Centro and South American species does (Gauld, 1988). According to Gauld, this species range from Mexico to South America (Brazil), and Cuba is the only Caribbean island record. The fact that within the country there are only records from western and central Cuba, but not from the eastermost part, suggests that probably the species arrived to Cuba from the mainland via Yucatan peninsula. MATERIAL EXAMINED: WC. PR: Soroa, Candelaria, III1963, AlayoGarcía (1 ♀, IES). CC. CF: El Nicho, Cumanayagua, IV1995, F. Medina (2 ♀, BIOECO).
