- The epigrams treated below were copied in 1982 by Sencer Sahin during his epigraphic survey in and around Nicaia. They are found in Beyyayla and İğdir Yaylası, two little villages in the middle Sangarios basin, some 15 km southeast of the town Yenipazar and 40 km northeast of Eskisehir/Dorylaion. The region belonged to Nicaia, which had a widespread territory (S. Sahin, I.v.Nikaia I, IX p.; Chr. Marek, EA 28, 1997, 81). The charecteristic settlements there are villages and hamlets rather than towns. Many votive and funeral inscriptions (Sahin, I.v. Nikaia II, no. 1105; 1128, 1162; 1288; 1289; 1292; 1293; Merkelbach–Sahin; EA 1, 1983, 57; others will be published by M. Adak, I.v. Nikaia III) reveal the wealth of the population in the Roman Imperial Period.
