- The issue of climate change is one of the most important global issues of the 21st century making it a front-burner on major global discourse. While Nigeria before this time was rarely affected by climate change-induced natural disasters, recent events have however shown that the country is not immune to this. To this end, there is a growing concern about the need to reduce human activities that threaten the environment. Despite this growing concern, the Multinational Oil Corporations operating in the Niger Delta has continued to engage in the most devastating environmentally damaging activities coupled with the weak regulatory frameworks.
