- This article aims to reflect on the practical challenges for the provision of Distance Education (DE) at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Roraima / Campus Boa Vista Zona Oeste (IFRR / CBVZO) from the context of Covid-19. Such reflections aim, specifically, to present perspectives of the distance education offer due to the developments of the new coronavirus and reflect on the difficulties and limitations of this offer in the IFRR / CBVZO. To this end, an exploratory, descriptive approach was adopted in the light of a case study based on the analysis of the report of “Research between CBVZO / IFRR and Students”. Although DE has been considered a strategic teaching modality for the pandemic period, its adoption is a decision that needs to be very cautious, since its effectiveness is conditioned to several factors, with the main limitation of access to the internet by the public served due to the socioeconomic context of the students' family nucleus.
