- This presentation (and the supporting article) explores the steady-state shape of a flexible elastomer filament suspended in a Newtonian fluid with the harmonic flow; a kind of flow that has been developed from the theoretical simplification of the Navier-Stokes equations. The local variation of the pressure in such a fluid has been computed from the Hamiltonian containing the interactions arising from the viscosity terms of the simplified Navier-Stokes equations. Analytical results for the steady-state shape of a filament have been derived and visualized and correlated with the flow schemes and the pressure fields.
