DISTRIBUTION IN NEW CALEDONIA. — All over the New Caledonian Archipelago. OTHER RECORDS. — Almost cosmopolitan. HOST- PLANTS IN NEW CALEDONIA. — Saccharum officinarum (Cohic 1958a). BIOLOGICAL AGENTS. — Cohic (1958a) noted that the spread of this mealybug was effectively limited by the ladybird Cryptolaemus montrouzieri (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae). NOTES. — Cohic (1958a) observed it all over the country on every clump of sugarcane, at the base of leaf sheaths. It is not rated as an economic species.
